WAS Monthly Meetings
Wellington Art Society meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month September through May at the Wellington Community Center. Our meetings reflect our vibrant, creative spirit. They are fun and interesting, open to the public, and filled with enthusiasm and encouragement.
Before the meeting artists have time to network followed by our Member Spotlight that encourages members to share their most recent artwork, talk about their creative process and share news of their upcoming exhibits, awards and classes.
As part of our Artist Development Program, at our monthly meetings, Professional Artists give demonstrations of different mediums and techniques used in creating their art. Artists also share their professional and business knowledge and experiences of being a successful artist. Professional business/ marketing guidelines, resource information, class and workshop information, are provided for the group by the artists.
Members also enjoy discounts for WAS sponsored shows, classes, and workshops.
VIP Invitations are provided to Members for many Previews, Art Receptions, Gallery Tours, Social Events.
Exhibition and Sale Opportunities
Members exhibit their work at juried shows at many local venues including Whole Foods- Wellington, WAS Gallery at Wellington City Hall, Wellington Community Center, the Oak Bistro and other Art Association Shows. Artists Receptions are part of many of the Shows and enjoyed by area visitors and the Community. The artwork is offered for sale at these shows.
Each year the Wellington Art Society presents a 2-day outdoor show, featuring the work of local, regional, and international artists. In 2020, WAS will present its 14th Art Fest on the Green - Annual Juried Fine Art and Fine Craft Show.
WAS is known as a welcoming, supportive group of artists that also use their talents to serve the Community. Our Outreach Programs allow our artists to use their creativity to teach classes, create paintings and murals for local hospitals, mentor children and adults, fulfill wish lists, and provide hands on service and support for community projects.
