Maria Amatulli's paintings are visual sonnets to the world we live in. The focus is not in creating a photo realistic representation of a specific person, place or thing but more with the sensory experience beyond the visible irregardless of subject matter. A pervasive feeling of human presence is always felt albeit at times elusive and fleeting. It is as if someone just left or will be entering the scene. Through the use of vibrant colors, simplified forms, viewers are invited to explore, feel and relate to the paintings in their own unique way.
